Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to collect the smoke dust whose specific resistance is in a specific range effectively by a method wherein an intermittent control circuit for carrying out phase control of a thyrister of a current control circuit is provided and high DC voltage with a specific pulse width is applied to a dust collecting electrode in a specific cycle.
CONSTITUTION: An intermittent control apparatus 1 for carrying out phase control of the thyrister 2 is connected to either one of an automatic circuit 4 or a manually operated circuit 5 through switches 3. The pulse width of voltage and the pulse interval are freely set by variable resistors R1, R2 respectively and a pulse height and a base height of the pulse are freely set by variable resistors R3, R4 respectively. When operated manually, the pulse height is regulated by an output of spark frequency control. Thereby, the high DC voltage with a pulse width of about 0.01W 1sec is applied to a dust collecting electrode in a cycle of about 0.01W1sec and current is shut off before the smoke dust generate inverse ionization to carry out the dust collection effectively even to the smoke dust with specific resistance range of 1011W1013Ωcm.
