Abstract

PURPOSE: To achieve an efficient electric collection of a high resistance dust with a compact device by applying a voltage between a discharge electrode and a dust collecting pole with a fixed shape so as to be a specific range of average field intensity.
CONSTITUTION: In a dust collecting pole section 1, a discharge pole 2 with a roughly circular cross-section is used setting the diameter thereof at more than one-sixteenth as large as the space between the adjacent discharge poles. A voltage is applied between the discharge pole 2 and a dust collecting pole 3 so as to be an average field intensity of 2.5W4KV/cm. This enables the collection of a high resistance dust with a specific resistance of 1010W1014[Ω.cm]. Thus, with a higher corona discharge starting voltage, electric collection of a high resistance dust can be done at a high efficiency with a small equipment.
