Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate laying operation by installing optical fiber cable conductors in a cable while distributing their connection parts lengthwise, and by eliminating cable connection parts between cables. CONSTITUTION:Optical fiber wires 2a are connected by being fused and reinforced by being molded 2d with nylon to obtain nearly the same diameter as that of the core conductor, thus achieving a core conductor connection which hardly varies in external diameter. The core-conductor connection parts 2 are contained in a long- sized pressure-resisting pipe 8 by being dispersed in the lengthwise direction of the cable. Thus, a long-sized cable is formed without providing connection parts between cables, and the trouble of laying operation accompanying large-diameter and heavy connection parts is eliminated.
