Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a magnet alloy with enhanced magnetic characteristics and high performance by properly adjusting the oxygen content of an Fe-Cr-Co alloy by deoxidation or injecting oxygen during melting and refining.
CONSTITUTION: 10W40wt% Cr, 3W30wt% Co and the balance Fe are melted by heating. During refining this alloy, it is deoxidized or injected with oxygen to adjust the oxygen content to 50W800ppm. Thus, by restricting the amount of dissolved oxygen, an Fe-Cr-Co magnet alloy with superior magnetic characteristics such as residual magnetic flux density, coercive force and maximum energy product is obtd.
