Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide the title alloy having sliding characteristics even in case of a soft objective material by adding a specified amount of S and allowing a restricted amount of sulfides formed from the S to be contained as Cu2S.
CONSTITUTION: The title alloy contains S 0.4W2%, and 50% or more of all of sulfides formed from the S is contained as Cu2S. When voids peculiar to a sintered alloy are not desirable for the purpose of use, this alloy is sealed by Cu infiltration, and simultaneously much Cu2S is dispersed. By this method the high sliding characteristics of an FeS-contg. Fe type sintered alloy can be extended to the region of a soft objective material such as ferrite cast iron by substituting Cu2S for the FeS.
