Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the magnetic flux density and square ratio of a metallic thin strip and reduce its coercive force by heat treating the thin strip wherein at least one face of an Fe-No-Si-B alloy is amorphous, at temps. near differential absorption heat initiation temp. CONSTITUTION:A thin strip of 6-14 B atom %, 8-14 Si, 4-12 Ni, the balance Fe, wherein at least one face is amorphous is heat treated at the temp. near the differential absorption heat initiation temp. of the heating differential heat quantity curve of said metal. This thin strip can be produced by, for example, a single roll method or the like, and the face where no cracking occurs at 180 deg. bending is amorphous. The differential absorption and release heat initiation temps. Ta, Tb of the typical heating differential heat quantity curve of said alloy thin strip vary slightly with the compositions of the thin strip, but the heat treatment temp. is set at near the Ta, that is, Ta+ or -25 deg.C. Thereby, coercive force is increased and magnetic density is decreased at high temps., and there is no marked effect at the heat treatment at temps. lower than these.
