Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the expansion of an electrode and improve its life, by forming the plural number of groove, concavity provided with through holes in their several parts in a sponge like metallic pornous body and filling them with resin. CONSTITUTION:Plural number of grooves 2 are formed by pressing in one side or both sides of the porous body of sponge like metal, for example, sponge like nickel porous body 1 and then, the porous body 1 is filled with a paste like active material by rubbing directly, and dried. Then, it is shaped by pressing, and through holes 3 are drilled in sevral parts of each groove 2 up to the opposite side. After that, an electrode is formed by filling the grooves 2, the through holes 3 and their peripheral areas with electrolyte resisting resin 4 by spreading or pouring and connecting an electrode lead 5. Besides, as the above mentioned resin polyethylene, epoxy resin or the like is used.
