Abstract
PURPOSE:To ease the filling work of an active material into an expanded grid by making parallel to the surfaces of the grid, the opposite surfaces of junctions which constitute the net part of the expanded grid, and making the thickness of the strips not greater than that of the grid, i.e. the positive electrode plate. CONSTITUTION:A grid comprises a net part 2 expanded by the expansion-processing method an unexpanded upper frame 1 with current-collecting lug 3, and an unexpanded bottom frame 8. The net part 2 comprises elements 4 and junctions 5 connecting elements together, the elements 4 and junctions 5 have surfaces parallel to both surfaces of the electrode plate, and the thickness of each plane T is equal to or less than that t of the flat electrode plate. That is, the maximum thickness T of the net part 2 is equal to or less than that t of the unexpanded upper frame 1 or bottom frame, and the thickness of the active material 7 is equal to or somewhat more than that t of the upper frame 1 and bottom frame 8.
