Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a positive plate with a long life by applying a paste to the whole surface of a grid in such a manner that the paste which is adjacent to the current-collecting part of a lead storage battery becomes thinner that which is remote from the current-collecting part, before the paste is compressed to an equalized thickness. CONSTITUTION:A paste 1 is applied to the whole surface of a grid 2 in such a manner that the upper part (which is near the current-collecting part of a lead storage battery) of the paste 1 is thin and the lower part (which is far from the current- collecting part) of the paste 1 is thick. Next, this is compressed with a roller to a given thickness so as to make the upper part of the paste to be less tightly packed than the lower part of that.
