Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the properties of manufacturing work on a battery having an organic solvent and the appearance and heavy-load performance of the battery and reduce its internal resistance, by providing sharp protrusios and recesses with a prescribed roughness on the inside surfaces of the battery case and seal plate to tightly fit the anode and cathode on them. CONSTITUTION:Reticulate grooves 3 are provided by cutter work on the inside surface of a seal plate 1, which serves also as a cathode terminal and is located in contact with a cathode 2. Numerous recessed points 6 are provided by press work on the inside surface of a battery case 4, which serves also as an anode terminal and is located in contact with an anode 5. The roughness of these inside surfaces provided with the grooves 3 and the recessed points 6 is so prescribed that their depth is 5 to 30mu. After the anode 5 is tightly fitted on the inside surface of the battery case 4, the seal plate 1 on which the cathode 2 is tightly fitted is placed on a packing 2 so that the seal plate is located over a separator 7 impregnated with an electrolyte solution containing an organic solvent, so that the battery case is sealed up. A battery with the organic solvent is thus manufactured.
