Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a liquid crystal display device which is resistant to heat, is stable, and has a long life and high performance by providing electrodes on the surfaces of substrates for sandwiching liquid crystals, forming polyimide silicone isoindoloquinazolinedione type films on the electrodes and rubbing the same. CONSTITUTION:The soln. of N-methyl pyrolidone or the like of a polyamide acid which is the precursor of the polyimide silicone isoindoloquinazolinedione type high polymer obtained by condensation of pyromellitic acids anhydrides or the like, diamine such as m-phenylene diamine, diaminomonoamide such as 1,4-diaminobenzene-2-carbonamide and diaminosiloxane expressed by the formula is coated on the electrodes of a substrate for sandwiching liquid crystals provided with transparent electrodes and said substrate. Thence, it is heated for about 2 hours at 300 deg.C to cause ring closure, thereby forming a film of about 800Angstrom . This is rubbed in one constant direction, whereby the substrate free from peeling or the like is obtained. This substrate permits press-sticking under heating by low m.p. glass frit, and yields a display device of excellent durability.
