Abstract
PURPOSE: In order to detect deficit in a conveyor belt, to continuously measure deficit and abrasion out of contact by comparing a reflected wave response time of an ultrasonic beam with a reference value.
CONSTITUTION: A transmitting sensor 3A is disposed at a distance of L from the surface of a belt 2 on a pulley on a return, and an ultrasonic wave is transmitted to the surface of the belt 2 by an ultrasonic voltage from an ultrasonic oscillating portion 4. The reflected wave is received by a receive sensor 3B and led to a control portion 5. Hereupon a response time is measured and the distance l between the sensors 3A, 3B and a controlled point 2A is computed to find a deflection with a preliminarily set distance L. The deflection is deficit of the belt and sent to a display device 7. Thus, the deficit can be measured with the passage of time out of contact, and besides the running speed can be grasped.
