Abstract

CONSTITUTION: A relative position measuring device comprises an ultrasonic signal transmitter-receiver A located on a light reception side 1, a transponder B installed on a measured object under water, a wave receiver C located at a prescribed distance from the transmitter-receiver A, an instrument 40 for measuring the transmission length of a transmission path "A-B-A", an instrument 50 for measuring the transmission length of a transmission path "A-B-C" and an instrument 60 for measuring the transmission length of a transmission path "A-C". A standard sound velocity Ko is set in an oscillator (not shown in figure) to determine values F= "A-C", l1'="A-B-A", l2'="A-B-C". These values are applied to a calculation circuit 70 to calculate values α=K/Ko, l1=αl1', l2=αl2'.
