Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable the change of the contraction scale rate in the moving direction of recording paper to be considered and enable the measurement of water bottom depth and topography to be accurately performed by making proportional-controlling of the measurment times of the depth and topography of water bottom according to the change of ground speed. CONSTITUTION:A ground speed measuring instrument 10 sends information to a transmitter 1 at the times corresponding to the ground speed of a ship. The transmitter 1 transmits an electric signal to a transmitter 3 and main unit 8 at each of this information. The transmitter 3 converts this electric signal to an ultrasonic wave and transmits the same to water bottom 4. The reflected echo from the water bottom 4 is received in a receiver 5, by which it is converted to an electric signal. This electric signal is received in a receiver 6, after which it is sent out to the main unit 8. The main unit 8 performs the sounding of the water bottom 4 and measurement and recording of its topography from the time differences of the electric signal from the transmitter 1 and the electric signal from the receiver 6. In this way, the change of the contraction scale rate in the moving direction of the recording paper may be considered and the accuracy of measurement improved.
