Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to measure the two-dimensional distribution of moving velocity of a moving object such as blood in the same time phase, by providing a method wherein ultrasonic components having corresponding features are extracted from reflected ultrasonic waves received by respective ultrasonic probes. CONSTITUTION:A control unit 4 drives probes 1-3 at different frequencies to emit ultrasonic waves simultaneously. The ultrasonic waves reflected by the structure of a hear A or blood are received by respective probes which in turn deliver transformed output signals to the control unit 4. Respective frequency components are extracted through filters and demodulated to present the phase difference between the transmitted and reflected waves. The flow velocity of the blood is measured through the thus obtained data, and the result of the measurement is put on display by a unit 5.
