Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce a plated steel plate of good quality at a high speed by holding the positions and diameters of snap rolls in a continuous hot dipping device for steel strips at a specific relation, using crown rolls for these and providing an auxiliary rolls. CONSTITUTION:A steel strip 1 is introduced through a snout 2 into a hot dipping bath 3 of Zn Al or the like and is led to the outside of the bath 3 through a pair of snap rolls 91, 92 via a sink roll 4. The coating weight of plating is adequately controlled by gas wiping with nozzles 6. In this case, the roll 92 contacting the surface of a steel strip 1 in contact with the roll 4 out of a pair of the snap rolls is deviated of position upper than the other roll 91. Also, the relation of d1>=d2 is provided between the diameter d1 of the roll 91 and the diameter d2 of the roll 92 and further an auxiliary roll 11 is interposed between the roll 4 and the snap rolls. A crown roll 12 is used for at least one of the snap rolls and the auxiliary roll.
