Abstract

PURPOSE:To shorten the time up to the locking of a reception frequency by decreasing the time constant of a phase-synchronous loop when the reception frequency is changed, in a receiver which includes a digital frequency synthesizer, having the phase-synchronous loop, in a local oscillating circuit. CONSTITUTION:A frequency synthesizer circuit consisting of a voltage-controlled oscillator 9, a frequency divider 10, a phase detector 11, a reference oscillator 13, and a loop filter 12 is provided in relation to the frequency mixer 3 of a receiving means. When a signal (a) is supplied from a controller 14 during reception, a muting circuit 6 attenuates a voice output signal. Simultaneously, freqency division data (b) required for the reception of another broadcast radio wave is supplied to the frequency divider 10 and the time constant of the loop filter 12 is decreased by a switching signal (c) to achieve locking at a reception frequency in a short time.
