Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase a search speed by realizing accurate signal detection by making the search speed the best in an intermediate band and slower in low and high bands.
CONSTITUTION: Once dividing ratio (n) is supplied from control circuit 7 to programmable counter 52, an oscillation frequency from VCO51 is diveced by (n). Then, PLL frequency synthesizer 5 is locked after constant time elapses and the locking of dividing ratio (n) is done. Lock detection circuit 11 exercises supervision over phase detector 54 and when a phase difference is elemiminated between frequency outputs of counter 52 and reference oscillator 53, it is judged that lock detection circuit 11 is in a locking state, thereby sending signals out to control circuit 7. In this locking state, a local oscillation frequency is supplied to mixer part of tuner 2 and a directcurrent voltage from loop filter 55 is to varactor diode 2a of tuner 2 to amplify selectively the high frequency.
