Abstract
PURPOSE:To easily obrain many pieces of rotating information by a continuous part and a discontinuous part from one magnet and increase strength by providing the discontinuous material part in a rotary magnet for detecting rotation. CONSTITUTION:A rotary magnet 1 of a cylindrical shape is alternately magnetized in a circumferential direction, and includes a discontinuous material part 1-1. The discontinuous part is constituted of a material (for example, rare earth cobalt) which is magnetized stronger than other parts of the magnet 1 or the density of ferrite is made higher. A magnetism converter 2 is so disposed as to detect the magnetic flux of the rotary magnet, and 2-1 detects the magnetic flux on the circumferential surface including the discontinuous part and 2-2 detects the magnetic flux on the circumference of only the continuous part. In this way, many pieces of rotation information are easily obtained from one magnet, and since there are no shape defects, the strength is high; in addition, the magnet is magnetized after molding and therefore, its accuracy is good.
