Abstract

PURPOSE: To efficiently separate a magnetic material, a nonmagnetic electroconductive material and a nonmagnetic unelectroconductive material in the mixed material by offsetting upward a rotary axis line of a rotary magnetic field rotating to a reverse direction against a cylinder around an outer peripheral surface of the cylinder.
CONSTITUTION: The nonmagnetic electroconductive material such as an aluminum can in a mixed material 64 thrown into a cylinder 12 from a chute 66 is passed without receiving any affect due to a rotary magnetic field of an outer annular ring 36 and traverses magentic flux of the rotary magnetic field. Therefor, eddy current is induced int the electroconductive material 68 and said material 68 is directed to a lower end opening 62 along a bottom part of the cylinder 12. The eddy current is not induced in a nonmagnetic unelectroconductive material 70 such as paper trashes and said material 70 is directed to a reverse direction against the electroconductive material 68. The remaining magnetic material 72 such as iron segments in rotated while held to an inner peripheral surface of the cylinder 12 by a megnetic adsorption force in the rotary magnetic field zone and released in a zone where a distance of the cylinder and the outer annular ring 36 becomes wide and received on a belt conveyor 58.
