Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide exact EGR in accordance with the engine load, by separately controlling negative pressure, led in pressure chambers of diaphragms for governing EGR and throttle valves, in accordance with the engine load.
CONSTITUTION: An EGR manifold 10 and suction tube 6 of an engine 1 are communicated with each other through an EGR conduit 14 having an EGR valve 12. A throttle valve 24 is set, upstream of an exhaust injection port 6', to the suction tube 6. Both valves 12, 24 are controlled by negative pressure led in pressure chambers 22, 30 of diaphragms 20, 28, respectively, negative pressure being introduced in a vacuum pump 32 through a shut-off valve 61, water temperature sensing valve 63, negative pressure reversing valve 59 and pressure control valve 37. The shut-off valve 61 and pressure reversing valve 59 are separately controlled by the output of comparators 67b, 67a which compare the output of an engine revolution sensor 68 with preset values.
