Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide exact EGR according to the engine load, by controlling negative pressure, led in a pressure chamberof a diaphragm for controlling an EGR valve, through a pressure reversing valve which is controlled by output of a displacement sensor attached to a fuel injection pump.
CONSTITUTION: An exhaust manifold 10 and suction tube 6 of an engine 1 are communicated with each other through an EGR conduit 14 to control the amount of EGR by means of an EGR valve 12 which is driven by a diaphragm 20. The suction tube 6 is equipped with a throttle valve 24 upstream of an exhaust injection port 6', the valve 24 being controlled by another diaphragm 28. Both diaphragms 20, 28 are driven by negative pressure led in each pressure chamber 22, 30 and the negative pressure is introduced from a vacuum pump 32 through a pressure reversing valve 41, water temperature sensing valve 39 and conduit 36. A command signal generator 48 of maximal EGR ratio controls the pressure reversing valve 41 in accordance with the output of an engine revolution sensor 49 and displacement sensor 50 of a fuel injection pump 51.
