Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent damage of the tip of a spool pin and eliminate remaining of solidified molten metal after pulling out by forming a passage of cooling water at the branching point of both sides making a cut of required depth from the tip to the base of a spool pin.
CONSTITUTION: The tip of injecting orifice of a nozzle 4 faces to a cut 52. Accordingly, the molten metal sent by pressure at high speed from the nozzle 4 flows into the cut 52 without colliding against the head of branching part. Consequently, the head of the brancing part is not damaged and the life of the spool pin is lengthened. After completion of injection and solidification of molten metal in the metal mold, a movable metal mold 2 is separated from a fixed metal mold 1. The molten metal in the cut 52 is cooled by cooling water in the branching part 54 and discharged to outside with the spool pin 51. In this case, the molten metal at the tip of the nozzle of molten metal inlet hole 3 is cooled by the tip of the branching part 54. Transmission of heat at the tip of the nozzle is intercepted by a heat insulating nozzle 50, and the molten metal solidifies easily in a short time and thus incompletely solidified molten metal does not remain in the molten metal inlet hole 3a.
