Abstract

PURPOSE: To easily produce a good gun arm free from formation of any distortion or the like with simple work by providing a product cavity and a stiffening bar by connecting these with feeder head parts in a molding mold then cutting the feeder head parts after casting.
CONSTITUTION: A product cavity 5 is provided by interposing cores 4 between the cope and drag 2, 3 of a forming mold 1, and a cavity 6 for a stiffening bar in parallel with the cavity 5 is provided with the cores 4 in-between. Two ore more places in both end parts and intermediate part of both cavitites 5, 6 are communicated with runners 7 communicating to above and below, and molten light alloy is poured through a sprue part 8. After the solidification, the casting is removed, and is subjected to heat treatment or the like, thence the bar B and the feeder head parts C are removed. According to this method, the solidification and shrinkage of molten metal are accomplised uniformly in each part, and since warpage and the like do not occur in the product part A, the need for subsequent correction and the like is eliminated.
