Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtan simpler and less costly mechanism by incorporating to EGR valve body a stop means which stops operation of EGR in response to temperature change and operation conditions of vehicles.
CONSTITUTION: When an engine is in operation, both of bimetal 13 and 14 are actuated by ambient temperature of the engine to cause pipe 15 open and negative pressure inlet air is introduced from port 11 to chamber 16 via chamber 12 and channel 13. As venturi negative pressure is introduced from port 17 to chamber 18, diaphragm 21 moves to left so that movable valve 25 disengages from pipe 23. Therefore, negative pressure in chamber 16 is passed into servo chamber 29 via chamber 27 and channel 28 to open EGR valve 44 properly. When the engine is in high speed operation and nagative pressure of chamber 18 is introduced to chamber 34 via sintered orifice 32, axle 36 moves to right to disengage movable valve 25 from valve seat 22a. Then, atmosphere is passed from port 19 to chamber 29 via channel 20, 27 to close EGR valve 44.
