Abstract

PURPOSE: A hard Au alloy brazing material containing less Au having a golden color tone and a low melting point, composed of a specific amount of Ag, Cu, Zn, In, and Ga.
CONSTITUTION: The composition of an Au alloy is constituted by wt% of 15W30 Ag, 20W30 Cu, 5W12 Zn, 5W15 In, 0.5W3 Ga and <30W40 Au and unavoidable impurtities. This Au alloy has an extremely low melting point and a remarkably narrow temperature range between the liquid phase curve temperature and the solid phase curve temperature. Moreover, ths alloy is hard and, in spite of its less Au content, it gives a golden color tone.
