Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a thin Cu alloy wire with high strength and flexibility by adding specified amounts of Sn and Zn to Cu as a principal componnt.
CONSTITUTION: The alloy composition of a thin Cu alloy wire is composed of Cu, 0.1W1wt.% Sn and 1W8wt.% Zn. By adding Zn and a little Sn to Cu, the strength and flexibility of the resulting thin Cu alloy wire are increased. When the Sn and Zn contents exceeds 1% and 8%, respectively, the strength and flexibility are reduced on the contrary. To the composition may be added ≤0.2% P or Mn.
