Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare the titled compound useful as a pesticide, in high purity and yield, by reacting an alkyl halide with more than equimolar amount of an N- substituted thiolcarbamic acid salt in the presence of a quaternary ammonium (or phosphonium) salt catalyst.
CONSTITUTION: An alkyl halide is made to react with more than equimolar amount of an N-substituted thiolcarbamic acid salt in the presence of a catalyst composed of at least one compound selected from quaternary ammonium salts and quaternary phosphonium salts, pref. at 0W80°C. The amount of the catalyst is 0.02W10mol% of the alkyl halide. The processes for the receovery of solvent and the alkyl halide can be eliminated, and a highly pure product can be obtained in high yield without using purification process.
