Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the loss of the quantity of light from the light source parts for beams and to make a scanning optical system which scans plural pieces of beams simultaneously on the surface to be scanned usable at the high speed recording by interposing anamorphic lenses in said optical system. CONSTITUTION:Plural light beams from light source parts 1a, 1b such as semiconductor laser arrays are passed through an objective lens 2, anamorphic lenses 11, 14, a rotary polarizer 3, a lens 13, etc., whereby the scanning lines 1a', 1b' are imaged on a photosensitive medium 6 of a rotary cylindrical body 5 in correspondence to the parts 1a, 1b. The lenses 11, 14 are formed to have an incident angle theta larger than a exit angle theta' so that the imaging magnification in the direction intersecting orthogonally with the plane where the luminous fluxes are polarized is made smaller than the imaging magnification in the direction where the luminous fluxes and luminous fluxes from the light sources are polarized. Thereby, the photodetection rates of the scanning lines 1a', 1b' are improved.
