Abstract
PURPOSE:To vary a resolution by scanning light beams from a plurality of semiconductor laser light sources by a light scanning means closely arrayed for image formation after passing them through a group of fibers. CONSTITUTION:Light beam 11 emitted from semiconductor laser 10a is stopped down via a coupling lens and incident to one of fibers in group 13 so that it will be led with efficiency. Respective beams 11 emitted from other semiconductor lasers 10b, 10c, 10d...10p are similarly stopped down by lenses 12 and incident to corresponding fibers respectively. Fiber group 13 is bundled closely at the other end. Light beam 14 emitted from fiber group 13 is collimated via lens 13 and deflected by polygon mirror 6, and the deflected beam is stopped down via lens 7 into spot light 16, which scans on recording paper 8 for recording. Recording a picture is performed by modulating semiconductor lasers 10a...10p direct and the number of scanning lines for recording is freely varied as well as the quantity of light arriving at recording paper 8.
