Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the scanning speed and the resolution by optically scanning the incident lights from two optically modulating means with one set of optically scanning means using both side reflected lights so that the recording surface is linealy scanned with those lights.
CONSTITUTION: A galvanomirror 8 which has a remarkably small thickness while having both reflecting sides is used as an optically scanning device. Two sets of directly modulating elements 9 and 10 are provided. The lights from those two elements are scanned on the both sides of the mirror 8, respectively, and are reflected through f-θ lenses 11 and 12, which are operative to make the angle of deflection and the scanning speed proportional to each other, upon fixed mirrors 13 and 14 until they enter a photosensitive element 5. The lights from the elements 9 and 10 enter the both sides of the mirror 8 at an independent angle from the lenses 11 and 12. The elements 9 and 10, the mirror 8 and the lenses 11 and 12 are so three- dimentionally arranged that the reflected lights enger the lenses 11 and 12. The photosensitive element 5 has its lines AWB and BWC in a plane with the scanning lights from the both sides of the mirror 8. Thus, it is possible to increase the scanning speed of the recording surface and the resolution.
