Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the separation efficiency of selectively permeable hollow fiber films without the reduction of liquid permeability and to increase its strength by drying the film so that the water content is reduced less than a specific quantity from the water included before dipping treatment after dipping the film into the aqueous halide solution of alkali metal or alkaline earth metal.
CONSTITUTION: Products molded like hollow fiber films from materials such as cellulose diacetate, cellulose triacetate, polyacrylonitrile, nylon 4, and nylon 6 by the wet spinning method are used for selectively permeable hollow fiber films. Such a hollow fiber film is dipped into 0.5W20wt% aqueous halide solution, for example, lithium chloride, sodium chloride, potasium chloride, and magnesium chloride, including alkali metal or alkaline earth metal for 5W180min. After dipping, the film is dried out until the water content is reduced so as to be 30W80% of water included before dipping.
