Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the dialusis, ultrafiltration properties, selectivity, handleability and module processability, by drying swollen regenerated cellulose hollow fibers after deacylation under specific conditions.
CONSTITUTION: Swollen regenerated cellulose hollow fibers after deacylation, e.g. cellulose acetate, are dried in air or an inert gas at 50°C or a above, preferably 80W200°C, at a draw ratio of 0.1W10%.
EFFECT: Small difference in elongation between the dry and wet, and plasticizing treatment is unnecessary in cleaning before assembling modules. Improved roundness without pinholes.
USE: Ultrafiltration and blood dialysis.
