Abstract
PURPOSE:To impart excellent heat resistance to a bottle body simultaneously with molding, by a method wherein a blown bottle body is subjected to a high temperature by a mold for blow molding and then it is cooled rapidly, at the time of biaxial orientation blow molding of a bottle body. CONSTITUTION:Prior to a biaxial orientation blow molding operation for a piece 7 molded as a primary molded article in a closed-bottom cylindrical shape, the mold 1 for molding composed of bisected molds 2 and a bottom mold 3 is heated to a temperature of about 140 deg.C by passing superheated super- atmospheric pressure steam into a passage 4 provided at the periphery of a mold cavity 1' of the mold 1. The piece 7 fitted to a stretching jig 5 and uniformly heated to a stretching temperature is mounted to the mold 1, and the piece 7 is subjected to biaxial orientation blow molding to become the bottle body 7' by the action of a pressure fluid while advancing a stretching pin 6 of the jig 5. After an appropriate lapse of time, cooling water is supplied into the passage 4 to rapidly cool the mold 1, whereby the blow-molded bottle body 7' is rapidly cooled and the molding is completed. When the bottle body 7' is cooled to about 105 deg.C, the mold is opened and the molded article is taken out.
