Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce shading and to prevent the deterioration in resolution by providing a conductor contacting with a light transmissing electrode film on the upper part of the interval at the lower electrode of a light conductive thin film contacting with switching elements selecting a picture element position. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of switching elements selecting a picture element position and a scanning circuit successively opening and closing the elements are formed on the same substrate and each switching element is provided with a light conductive thin film 5' and a light transmissing electrode film 7 through respective lower electrode 13. Next, an opaque conductor 19 contacting with the film 7 is provided on the upper part of the interval of the lower electrode 13. This prevents a decrease in the light transmissibility of a light transmissive electrode film and reduces shading and can prevent a deterioration in resolution by the drift of electric charges between the picture elements.
