Abstract

PURPOSE:To relieve stress remaining in steel deposited to coat the surface of the base of a rotor by annealing the deposited coating layer while maintaining it at a temp. below the average temp. of the base. CONSTITUTION:A prescried part of a turbine rotor made of 12% Cr steel as base metal is coated with deposited steel having a higher coefft. of thermal expansion than the base metal. This coating layer 2 is then annealed while spraying air for cooling. During the end of the ennealing and the beginning of a cooling stage for returning to ordinary temp., the layer 2 is maintained at a temp. below the temp. of the base 1 of the rotor. Thus, stress remaining in the steel deposited to coat the surface of the base is relieved.
