Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a toner having superior characteristics as a developer with high productivity by mixing toner particles with additives while setting the mixing time within a specifed time range between the singular points of the charging property and the fluidity depending on the mixing time. CONSTITUTION:A toner consisting of a binding resin such as polystyrene or a styrene copolymer, paraffin wax and a coloring substance such as carbon black or further contg. magnetic powder is manufactured by an ordinary method. This toner is mixed with additives such as clloidal silica, polytetrafluoroethylene and o,o'- dioxazo dye contg. Cr. With respect to the relation between the mixing time and the fluidity of the toner, the fluidity has a singular point after about 60sec as shown by a graph 1a, and the charging property has a singular point after about 30sec as shown by a graph 1b. By finishing the mixing between 20sec corresponding to 70% of the mixing time at which the charging property shows a singular point and 60sec at which the fluidity shows a singular point, a toner with superior characteristics is obtd. Thus, no time is wasted.
