Abstract

PURPOSE: To simultaneously accomplish enhancement of fixability and solution of problems in a developing section, by using a mixture of specified magnetic and nonmagnetic toners.
CONSTITUTION: A ferromagnetic powder is kneaded with a low melting resin, preferably having a softening point of 50W80°C, then kneaded with a high melting resin, preferably having a softening point of 90W140°C at a temperature above its melting point, and after cooling and solidifying, pulverized preferably to 10W30 micrometers. The magnetic toner obtained thus has such a structure that at least part of the magnetic particles are coated with the low melting resin, the magnetic bodies are bound in the high melting resin in a dispersed state, and part of the magnetic bodies are exposed to the surfaces of toner particles. This magnetic toner and a nonmagnetic toner made of a high melting resin having a melting or softening point similar to that of the above high melting resin are mixed for use.
