Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable the title magnetic toner to obtain an image low in fog and sufficiently high in density even under a high humidity atmosphere, by incorporating a magnetic material containing a low molecular weight fluorinated compound with a binder resin.
CONSTITUTION: A magnetic material powder, such as nickel, iron, or ferrite fine powder is immersed in the solution of a low molecular weight fluorine-containing surfactant, such as formla I, II, or III, to coat the powder with the fluorine-containing compound in an amount of about 0.01W1wt%. A magnetic toner is made by heat mixing the above treated magnetic material with a binder resin, such as styrene or acrylic resin and pulverizing the mixture after cooling, followed by coassifying to proper particle diameters.
