Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a toner having a long life, superior fixability, fluidity, transferrability and charging controllability by using a styrene-butyl acrylate copolymer and solid silicone varnish as part of a binding resin. CONSTITUTION:Toner powder is manufactured by kneading a 50 part styrene- butadiene copolymer, a 50 part chlorinated paraffin copolymer, a 10 part styrene- butyl acrylate copolymer (6/4 molar ratio and 30,000mol.wt.), 10 part phenylsilicone varnish (2,000mol.wt.), carbon black and a charging controller and by finely pulverizing the kneaded material after cooling. This toner is mixed with iron powder, and using the mixture, magnetic brush development is carried out. Even after developing 200,000 reversal images, the image quality is not changed from the initial quality. The styrene-butyl acrylate copolymer and the solid silicone varnish are contained in the binding resin by 4-25pts.wt. and 4-20pts.wt. to 100pts.wt. of the resin, respectively.
