Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare unbaked lump forming ore having large angle of repose and good high temp. properties by a method wherein a binder and, if necessary, water are added to particulate ore having a specific particle size range based on iron ore and, after the obtained mixture is molded into a block like form, the molded one is cured and crushed.
CONSTITUTION: A binder and, according to necessity, an axiliary stock material or an appropriate amount of water are added to particulate ore based on iron ore and the resulting mixture is formed into a nodular shape to prepare unbaked lump forming ore. In the above described method, particulate iron ore containing 10W70% of ore particle with a particle size of 10mm or less and 1mm or more is used and, according to necessity, the auxiliary stock material, water or the like are appropriately used and the resulting mixture is molded into a block like form to be cured. In the next process, the cured one is crushed to a predetermined particle size by using a rag tooth crusher used in crushing, for example, sintered ore to prepare the unbaked lump forming ore.
