Abstract

PURPOSE:To make diagnosis operation of high reliability possible while making service work in inferior environments as well by using a non-volatile semiconductor memory which stores the reference value of the prescribed items relating to the operation of a standard engine as a storage device. CONSTITUTION:A cassette 9 having a semiconductor memory 1 written with the reference values of an engine to be inspected is mounted to a guide 11, and the items to diagnose are instructed by a switch group 5 to a controller 4. The controller 4 instructs a read address to the memory 1 and the reference values of the items to diagnose are displayed in a digital display device 6. The measured values inputted to the controller 4 are displayed on an analog meter 7b. If the storage of the measured data is instructed by the group 5, the controller 4 stores the measured value inputted thereto and holds the instructed value in the meter 7b. Further, the stored measured value and the reference values read out from the memory 1 are compared and the results of the diagnosis are displayed in a display device 6.
