Abstract
PURPOSE: To separate and recover specific rare earths with stable operation and good efficiency in a liquid-liquid extraction method of separating and extracting the specific rare earths from an aq. soln. contg. the rare earths by using a specific alkyl sulfonic acid monoalkyl ester for an extracting agent.
CONSTITUTION: An aq. raw material contg. rare earths is put into a multiple stages counter current extracting device 1 through an inlet 6, and the org. solvent soln. of alkyl sulfonic acid monoalkyl ester expressed by the formula (I) is supplied as an extracting agent soln. through an inlet 4. Scrubbing liquid for washing away the rare earths other than intended rare earths is supplied through a scrubber injection port 5. The liquid extracting the rare earths is washed away of the unnecessary rare earths with the scrubbing liquid, after which it is put in a back extracting device 2, where a mineral acid such as nitric acid of ≥1N concn. is suppied as back extracting liquid and the rare earths are back extracted and are removed through an outlet 12. Of the back extracting liquid, the parts contg. 30W90% extracted rare earths are controlled to 0.01W2N concs. in a scrubbing liquid control tank 3, and are used as scrubbing liquid.
