Abstract

PURPOSE: To heighten the removal rate of ammonia and acid gas components in waste water and to eliminate a need for pressure vessels, by lowering the pressure in the wast water purification process.
CONSTITUTION: Coke oven gas is contacted countercurrently in an absorbing column 2 with an NH3 absorbing solution to remove volatile acid gas components and then NH3 is recovered in an NH3 recovery equipment 28. On the other hand, the absorbing solution is introduced into an acid removing tower 12 operated with the temperature at its top below 40°C, and is heated therein to 110W160°C to remove the volatile gas components absorbed in the absorbing solution. Then, a portion of the absorbing solution is used as an absorbing solution for the absorbing column 2. The remaining portion of the solution introduced to a stripping column 15 and mixed therein with industrial waste water containing NH3 and/or vollatile gas components. Then, the mixture is heated to 90W140°C at a pressure lower than that in the acid removal tower 12 to extract low-pressure steam containing the NH3 and/or volatile acid gas components in the industrial waste water. In this way, the waste water is purified. Then, the titled gas is obtained by introducing part of all of the steam extracted from the waste water purification process to the suction port of an injector 24 driven by steam at a pressure of 5kg/cm2.G or higher; is increased in pressure to a level higher than that in the acid removal tower; introduced to the acid removal tower 2 and is contacted directly with the absorbing solution.
