Abstract
PURPOSE: To efficiently and continuously extract minor component using a small amount of solvent by a method wherein water nonmixible, relatively high specific gravity solvent is used for countercurrent extraction under a specific condition.
CONSTITUTION: Inside an extraction tank 1, are installed upper and lower hold plates 6, 7 (free to pass liquid), movable stirrer rod 2 having blades, and metal screen 5 fixed at upper portion of the rod 2. Solvent reservoir 9 is installed under the lower hold plate 7. While rotating the stirrer rod 2, liquid to be extracted (aqueous solution contg. minor component) is forced to be charged from inlet 3. At the same time, water nonmixible solvent having a specific graviry of 1.3W1.5 (e.g. trichloroethylene) is injected from inlet pipe 4. The solvent is divided by rotating metal screen 5 into fine droplets, falls down, countercurrently contacts liquid to be extracted uprising in the tank 1 and extracts minor component contained in the liquid. The solvent is further flowed down and stored in the solvent reservoir 9. The treated liquid overflows the tank 1 and is discharged from the outlet 11.
