Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the density of a thick film type thermal head by improving the bonding strength of a lead electrode and to improve the thermal efficiency of the head by reducing the thermal radiation to the lead electrode by forming directly the lead electrode on a dielectric substrate and forming a temperature insulating layer having an upper hole. CONSTITUTION:A paste such as Au or the like is pattern-printed on a polished surface of a dielectric substrate 21 such as alumina ceramic or the like polished on one side, is baked and a lead electrode 23 is formed. Then, a pattern is formed in a strip shape with a dry film photoresist having the prescribed thickness, crystallizing glass is buried by a screen printing in the pattern, and a temperature insulating layer 22 is formed. In case of forming the pattern, a hole 27 for connecting a heating resistor 2 to the electrode 23 is provided. Further, after the photoresist pattern is similarly formed, a resistance paste such as RuO2 or the like is buried in the pattern, a heating resistor 25 is formed, and a wear resistance layer 26 is formed.
