Abstract
PURPOSE:To remove a high luminance part or a high chroma saturation part, which becomes unseemly by compensation, and to properly compensate a color flash, by executing a color flash compensation only when a signal level of a chrominance signal or a luminance signal is a prescribed level or below. CONSTITUTION:A reproducing RF signal is applied to an FM demodulator 2 through a buffer amplifier 1, is converted to a reproducing video signal by the demodulator 2, is 1H-delayed by a 1H delaying circuit 3, and after that, the reproducing video signal which has removed a chrominance signal component is outputted by an FM demodulator 4. Video signals of both these demodulators 2, 4 are selectively outputted as a video signal by a changeover switch 5 of a compensating means 8. To an OR circuit 6 of this compensating means 8, an output of an AND circuit 14 is inputted, an output of a color flash detecting means 13 and an output of a color flash compensation inhibiting means 15 are provided to the circuit 14, and also an output of a dropout detecting means 7 is provided to the circuit 6. In this way, only when a signal level of a chrominance signal or luminance signal is a prescribed level or below, compensation is executed by the means 8.
