Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain the detailed expression of high saturation part by separating a luminance component and a chrominance component from a color TV signal, detecting a correction quantity control signal from the chrominance component to compensate a high frequency band of the luminance component in response to the correction quantity control signal. CONSTITUTION:A color TV signal is separated into a Y signal and a C signal by a YC separation circuit 2, the C signal is full-wave-rectified by a detection circuit 7 and becomes a correction quantity control signal K in response to the chrominance component. On the other hand, the Y signal is a high frequency component through an HPF 9 and the high frequency component is amplified in response to the value of the signal K by a variable gain amplifier 10 and added and corrected by the adder circuit 11 with the Y signal via the delay circuit 8 and the resulting Y signal is obtained. The obtained Y signal and the C signal via the circuit 6 are added by an encoder and a composite signal having a luminance component emphasized with the high frequency component is outputted from the output terminal 4.
