Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the reproducibility of chrominance signal and the resolution, by performing the synchronizing detection after obtaining a luminance signal from the output of a solid-state image pickup element through a low pass filter and obtaining the chrominance signal through a band pass filter. CONSTITUTION:A luminance signal is obtained from the output signal of a solid- state image pickup element 1 through a low pass filter 7. A chrominance signal is obtained from the output of the solid-state image pickup element 1 through a band pass filter 13 and is separated into a red signal and a blue signal by synchronizing detecting circuits 14 and 18. These red and blue signals are inputted to process circuits 17 and 20 and are subjected to the gamma correction, etc. and are inputted to an encoder 12. A filter circuit 11 separates and takes out low band components from the luminance signal, which is taken out from a process circuit 9, and inputs them to the encoder 12. The encoder 12 forms a color television signal of the NTSC system from red and blue signals, the luminance signal, and the low band luminance signal.
