Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution and realize the power saving with a small size and light weight, by obtaining simultaneously both the luminance and chrominance signals during the scan of one line, installing the optical filter before a solid state image pickup element for the chrominance signal to obtain either one of the red and blue and then processing the chrominance signal through the video process circuit. CONSTITUTION:The light passed through a lens is divided with a certain ratio through the half- mirror of the optical system 101 and then forms an image on the image pickup elements 102 and 103 which extract the chrominance signal and the luminance signal each. The color filters of red R and blue B are bonded onto the picture element corresponding to the scanning line on the image-forming surface of the element 102; and the optical filter for luminance signal is bonded on the image-forming surface of the element 103. The luminance signal sent from the element 103 receive such processes as the gamma correction and the like through the video process amplifying circuit 105 to be supplied to the matrix circuit 106. The chrominance signal sent from the element 102 is turned into the signals R and B with every line and by the color filter. The video process amplifying circuit 104 for chrominance signal processes two types of signals which differ with every line. The output of the circuit 106 is made to pass through the process circuits 107- 110 to obtain the color composite signal at the output terminal 111.
